Hi I'm Simon, a drummer based in South East London. I have over ten years experience as a professional musician in a wide range of settings.

Simon’s experiences in music over the past decade have made him a versatile musician. Having performed in a wide variety of styles, such as theatre work, Big Bands, Small group Jazz, Rock/fusion, functions and original music, he is confident in being able to step into any situation. Simon has also gained a vast experience of recording from free jazz for film soundtracks to singles for pop/rock bands. Simon’s education includes studying at Canterbury Christ Church University (BMus) under John Fisher, Mike Hamnett and James Dean as well as the Guildhall School Of Music and Drama (Mmus). Here he studied drums under Trevor Tomkins, Ralph Salmins and Andrew Bain. He also studied Improvisation under Martin Hathaway, Jazz Harmony with Malcolme Edmonstone and Arranging under Scott Stroman. Always keen to learn more about drumming Simon has also studied privately with Bob Armstrong. Simon is available for live work and recording. He is now able to offer remote recording for anyone needing live drums for their music.

Remote recording session

This price is for remote recording drums for one track. You will receive: one mixed drum track for demos. 8 individual raw drum tracks plus any perc overdub (shakers, tambourine etc) if required. I am happy to do retakes to make sure you are 100% happy with my part for your music. What I'll need from you: demo track (please let me know if this will be a rough guide track or the final mix). separate click track. any references for the sound/style of drumming you want for your music. this can be youtube videos, spotify links, albums/singles or artists you like.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Not a problem please get in contact and we'll see what we can organise. timing on the day changes (eg moving set up from 5pm to 3pm) wont be a problem. Moving day will be subject to avalability.

How much time do you need to set up?

depending on the gig and get in anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half. The average time would be an hour.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

yes I have a range of drums which suit different styles and can tailor what I bring for to get the best possible sound for your music.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

I am happy to learn new matierial for gigs. Please let me know the set list and if you've got any recordings I can use a a reference and I'll get learning!
