About Scottish Chamber Orchestra Chorus

“The night belonged to the SCO Chorus for its shattering and profoundly moving performance of the Requiem" The Herald (Mozart Requiem 2011)
Edinburgh

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra Chorus has built a reputation as one of Scotland's finest and most versatile choirs. Members enjoy a unique opportunity to perform with one of the world¹s leading chamber orchestras, working regularly with international conductors including Robin Ticciati, Olari Elts, Joseph Swensen, Richard Egarr, John Storgårds and Emmanuel Krivine. The Chorus appears regularly with the Orchestra in Scotland¹s major cities. Recent concerts have covered a wide range of music including Handel Messiah, Mozart Mass in C minor, Britten Hymn to the Virgin, Haydn Nelson Mass, Bach Mass in B minor, Berlioz Béatrice et Bénédict, Haydn Creation and Beethoven 'Choral' Symphony, as well as premieres of SCO commissions. The Chorus also appears on its own in a capella repertoire (most recently performing works by Pärt, MacMillan and Lauridsen) and is in demand for outside engagements. The SCO Chorus has appeared at Edinburgh Festival Theatre with the Cuban ballet star Carlos Acosta, and has given acclaimed performances of Duke Ellington¹s Sacred Music with Clark Tracey and the International Edinburgh Jazz Festival Orchestra at the International Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival. Last autumn the Chorus made its St Andrews Voices Festival debut in a performance of Brahms' German Requiem under Gregory Batsleer.
