Musicianship
Owen has been passionate about music from a young age, and he started piano lessons when he was five. He has played each year in the Springboard festival in Brighton and won both the Junior and Senior piano championships there, as well as the jazz cup. In 2014 he achieved a distinction in the Trinity Guildhall ATCL piano diploma. At the age of nine, Owen became interested in percussion and joined Brighton Junior Youth Orchestra and have since progressed to be principal percussionist in the Brighton Youth Orchestra. Along the way he has had several compositions performed by the orchestras and by the percussion ensemble of which he was a member for six years. In 2012, he was selected to play percussion in the Glyndebourne opera Imago, and last year returned for the Youth Opera Tycho’s Dream. Now Owen works as a freelance musician in the Brighton area (also travelling to London and beyond), playing in multiple groups and in show pits. Owen's first film score was for 'Between The Tracks' (directed by Charlie Bentley) in 2014. Later this year he will be providing a live score to the oldest surviving animated feature 'The Adventures of Prince Achmed', and is in negotiations with other film producers both nationally and internationally.
