Music has been part of my life from the very beginning. I grew up in a musical family in Ireland, first taught by my great uncle and surrounded by the voices and songs of my aunts Cara and Mary Dillon, both acclaimed folk artists who performed as part of folk bands during my childhood. Inspired by them, I began learning the tin whistle at school and in evening lessons, before broadening my skills at workshops and summer schools across Ireland. These experiences gave me a wide understanding of the Irish folk tradition and a deep love for the music that continues to shape my performances today. Alongside my performing, I have worked extensively in the music industry itself. I am currently part of the team at Real World Records, the internationally respected label founded by Peter Gabriel, and run my own company, Wildtune. In previous roles, I worked at Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin in Derry, producing festivals and events including Fleadh Cheoil 2013. I have also produced albums for artists such as Mary Dillon and Dàibhidh Stiùbhard. These experiences have given me a broad perspective on both the creative and professional sides of music-making, which I bring to every performance. As a musician, I regularly perform in ceilidh bands for weddings, parties, and private functions, as well as in traditional Irish pub sessions across Bristol and the South West. My repertoire covers lively jigs, reels, and polkas as well as slower airs, and I always tailor my sets to suit the atmosphere of the occasion. Whether clients want upbeat dance music, gentle background tunes, or a mixture of both, I work closely with them to create the perfect soundtrack for their event. I can perform solo or as part of various ensemble line-ups, depending on what clients are looking for. Options range from fiddle and guitar accompaniment to larger groups with multiple instruments for a full band feel. This flexibility allows me to provide music that fits both the scale of the event and the preferences of the audience. At heart, I perform because music creates connection. It brings people together in celebration, reflection, and joy. With a background rooted in the Irish tradition and a professional approach shaped by years of industry experience, I aim to bring that spirit of connection to every performance.

Oran provided a wonderful musical backdrop to our big day during the ceremony and afterwards for background music, alongside his guitarist. It was very special.
