Morven began playing the flute during primary school on the Isle of Man. She then fell in love with it and went on to learn with Lisa Nelson and Elizabeth Walker at the Music Specialist School, Wells Cathedral School from 2012-2016 where she was awarded a scholarship as a specialist musician on flute, piccolo and baroque flute. Morven has been a member of a number of ensembles including National Childrens Orchestra GB and National Youth Woodwind Orchestra GB. She has performed in many prestigious venues including Wigmore Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, LSO St Luke’s, The Sage, Birmingham Symphony Hall and Cadogan Hall. In 2016 Morven completed her DipABRSM with honors and received the Michael Hirst Scholarship to study at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She has recently graduated studying with Flute with Susan Milan, Piccolo with Sameeta Gahir, Jazz Flute with Martin Speake and Baroque Flute with Elizabeth Walker and Rachel Brown. Morven currently plays with various London based orchestras including Capital Orchestra, Kings College London Symphony Orchestra. She has recently played with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra GB, Trinity Laban Symphony Orchestra, Bellot Baroque Ensemble, Wyatt Sinfonia and Goldfinch Chamber Orchestra. She had the opportunity to perform on Bach’s St Matthew’s Passion on baroque flute at St John’s Smith Square with Emmy Kirkby (Soprano) and Michael Cox (Flute.) Her next performances include Playing the Reinecke Flute Concerto with Kings College London Symphony Orchestra, a tour around Switzerland with Flute & Harp and performing in Oxford with a baroque orchestra.
