What do your clients love most about your performances?

Which venues have you performed at in the past?
I have played at various wedding venues across the UK and Europe, but also at bar events in Greece, exclusive ski resorts in Austria, and I've been asked to perform on the newest flagship luxury cruise liners for Princess Cruises.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
My guitarist influences first came from classic rock like Led Zeppelin and Britpop such as Oasis and Blur. After that, I went through periods of studying the work of musicians in folk, blues and soul, 80s to contemporary pop. My favourite contemporary artist would probably be Hozier, but it's much harder to narrow down my influences from the 60s and 70s.
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
This is probably the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. At the time I was working as a session guitarist and playing for a band on tour in the US. 2012 was a time when millions of viewers tuned in to watch that show every night!
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
I'm happy to be flexible to help everything run smoothly and longer events with many moving parts such as weddings often don't follow the exact schedule, so I have learned to go with the flow! If timings change in the run up to event, let me know.
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
I don't offer a DJ service but my PA system has bluetooth connectivity so you can either play your own choice of music through my system or let me know beforehand and I will prepare an appropriate playlist myself.
How much time do you need to set up?
I like to arrive about an hour before starting. It doesn't usually take me more than 30 mins to set up my equipment but I like to have extra room in case of any hidden complications and to make sure the space is looking tidy.
Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?
I find it is often best to have some flexibility on the day to adjust what I'm playing to fit the atmosphere and audience, so I usually suggest we have a video call before the event to discuss your favourite music and the atmosphere we want to create. Once we have decided that, we can discuss your favourite individual songs to make sure they're included.
Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?
Yes. I bring my instrument, mics, stands, and two 1000W powered Mackie speakers with a 2000W subwoofer. I also have a smaller, battery-powered speaker that works great for things like outdoor wedding ceremonies.
Can you learn song requests before the event?
If you don't see the song you want in my song lists, there's a chance I might still know it. If not, I'm happy to learn up to three unique songs for your event.
