I’m a Berkshire-based drummer available for sessions, dep gigs, weddings, functions, and remote recording. My focus is simple: make the music feel great. Whether it’s locking in with a click, driving a live band, or delivering polished multi-track drum stems from my studio, I bring reliability, groove, and musicality to every gig. With years of experience across pop, rock, soul, funk, disco, indie, and singer-songwriter styles, I’ve built a reputation for being both versatile and professional. I know what artists, bandleaders, and producers need from a drummer: consistency, solid time, tasteful dynamics, and the ability to make everyone else on stage or in the studio feel comfortable. For live shows, I’m confident stepping in as a dep at short notice, quickly learning setlists and playing with authority while still serving the song. I’m comfortable with clicks, backing tracks, and MD cues, and I pride myself on bringing both the right energy and the right sound to each performance. From weddings and functions to original projects, I adapt to the situation while always keeping the groove at the heart of what I play. For recording sessions, I offer both in-person and remote drum tracking. My treated studio space allows me to provide multi-mic recordings with clean, phase-coherent stems (Kick In/Out, Snare Top/Bottom, OHs, Rooms, Hats, Toms). Producers can choose between dry takes or versions enhanced with tasteful processing (parallel compression, tape, gated verb, clippers, and more). Turnaround is fast, communication is clear, and revisions are included to make sure the final part sits perfectly in the track. I also understand the producer’s perspective — sometimes what’s needed isn’t more notes, it’s more space, more feel, or a subtle sound choice that changes everything. That’s why I pay attention to cymbal selection, hi-hat openness, snare tuning, and even the stick or beater I use. The goal is always to give the song exactly what it needs, no more and no less. Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings — from intimate songwriter sessions where a delicate touch is everything, to full-scale function gigs where energy and stamina drive the night. I’ve learned that a drummer’s role isn’t just to play the right notes, but to make everyone else sound better. When the time feels solid, the singer leans into the phrasing, the bass player locks in, and the whole band relaxes. That foundation is what I bring to every project. I’m based in Berkshire (Reading) and regularly work across Windsor, Maidenhead, Bracknell, Newbury, Wokingham, Slough, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, and West London. Travel is never a problem, and remote sessions mean I can work with artists anywhere in the world. If you’re looking for a reliable, musical drummer in Berkshire — for live shows, dep gigs, weddings/functions, or studio work — I’d love to hear from you. Get in touch with your date, style, and any references, and let’s make the music feel great together.

Mark did an excellent job as a professional freelance drummer for the Elton John Tribute Experience band. There was also one song thrown at Mark on the night which was not rehearsed beforehand. Mark took this in his stride, learned the song with short notice and performed that song too with perfection! A very friendly, down to earth guy, years of knowledge and experience and knows his stagecraft. I recommend Mark wholeheartedly.

I was referred to Evolution band by a friend, as we were looking for a vivacious band to play live at our wedding and cater for all ages. We were certainly not disappointed! They wow-ed us from the first song and got people on the dance floor immediately. They absolutely made our event a memorable and glorious occasion for my husband and I and it wouldn’t have been the same without them. I would hire them again in an instant and couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Love love LOVE them!
