Mama Brass

We are a eight-piece brass collective, based in London, UK. Fusing influences from New Orleans, West African, and Baltic brass troupes with our own brand of grooving brass action, we deliver an energetic mix of original material and fresh twists on classic and current tunes. From Whitney Houston to Rita Ora, afrobeat to ska, threaded through with brass-funk on-stage magic, big bass, and infectious rhythm. The band is made up of eight musicians: a seven-piece brass section plus drums/percussion. We have performed all over the UK for audiences of all sizes, private and public events, and have toured overseas, even appearing live on Beninese national television! We can perform with or without amplification, giving us the versatility to play anywhere at any time. True to our busking roots, we love to perform acoustically in the middle of a crowd, melting into the melee, and often getting audience members in on the percussion. For the full package though, get us amped up on stage, with full percussion, a lot of sequins and a lot of volume.
