“L" Lee Oscar (keys) "D" Dom Robinson (bass) "N" Nick Flowers (drums) (plus 'D3' as our number 2 drummer!) and they formed in Brighton ("BTN') Which is why they are called "LDN2BTN"! (and it is pronounced 'London to Brighton') The sound is both familiar and new: Groovy jazz improvisation with broad influences. No two sets are the same - although you will often recognise the foundations! We don’t have a vocalist making our music very much ‘mood’ or ‘ambient’ jazz! Its highly inoffensive!! Great for background / receptions / corporate events / galleries and openings etc... LDN2BTN sometimes welcomes guests for sessions too. LDN2BTN sets are ideally suited to augmenting / replacing DJs for a live music feel - and tempo is always suited to the crowd. The band can drop in to club nights, cafes, festivals, back street bars, weddings, funerals and private parties. We are interested in 'interesting' gigs within easy reach of London Gatwick. Quite often if you cover our expenses, we can be convinced to play for Tips (convince us there will be enough of a crowd!) The bands members have prolific experience spanning 20 years. Our first booking with LDN2BTN was the Vienna Diversity ball to 4000+ ticket holders! However today we are looking for interesting mellow gigs within easy reach from Brighton (including via Gatwick to Europe / US)

Ldn2btn were booked for a 50th birthday event and played two sets of ambient jazz. The first without a drummer and the second with. They were well received and much preferable to a DJ! They took care of the sound themselves, plugging direct into the PA.

Excellent band. Set the mood for the evening. Instrumental but added a singer guest on request for a few numbers (we wanted some well know jazz songs to get everyone going). The boys dide a quick soundcheck and setup. Punctual, helpful. Music was solid and the audience loved it. We organise half a dozen gigs a year and ldn2btn will be invited back.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We are designed to fill silence and yet remain unobtrusive: perfect for networking events, corporate or wedding receptions, hospitality, product launches and terrace / lounge vibe. We do not aim to be centre of attention nor ‘take over’ your event: we just add musical colour!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Vienna Town Hall (Diversity Ball), Amsterdam RAI (conference work), numerous pubs and hotels and private functions

Herbie Flowers, Duke Ellington, Miles Davies, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers, Willie the Lion Smith, Stan Getz, Jelly Roll Morten, Benny Goodman, Hank Mancini, and countless others

Do you have different line-up options?

We can play with or without drummer, and we can add a second drummer for more up beat club vibe. We can bring guest singers and other instruments if required.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Don’t panic - just reach out and talk to us!we are typically pretty acommodating.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes absolutely. Our bassist has been djing for 30 years! We can DJ from jazz to jungle, house to 80s/90s party and anything in between.

How much time do you need to set up?

20min typically.

Can you roam around while you perform?

No.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

For sure.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

We have a single half PA speaker that we use to amplify keys and bass to level of drums. Its ‘backline’ volume. Typically loud enough for most venues up to about 200 capacity, but if you want it louder we would need a PA to be provided. We don’t provide lighting.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We can try :) There may be rehearsal fees to cover that. Typically the place we use is £30 for a 3h rehearsal which is enough time to bring up 1 or 2 requests.
