Hi, I’m Josh. I’m a Glasgow-based saxophonist with over 20 years of playing and performing experience. My set is an eclectic mix of crowd-pleasers, designed for all ages and tastes. At its core, it’s great dance, electronic and pop music—brought to life on both the alto and baritone saxophone. My sets blend the energy of dance, electronic and pop music with the warmth of live sax. It’s NOT the typical “Ibiza sax” vibe—expect a wide range of feel-good tracks, from Jubel (Klingande), Praise You (Fat Boy Slim), and This Girl (Kungs) to Bombscare (2 Bad Mice), Espresso (Sabrina Carpenter), and Freed From Desire (Gala, Molella, Phil Jay). With over 20 years of performing experience and formal training from the University of Leeds (BA Hons, Popular and World Music) and the University of York (MA, Music), I bring together deep musical understanding and a genuine love of performing to create an experience your guests will truly enjoy. Josh Plays the Sax can fit into any part of your event — whether as an opener before a DJ or band, or as a standalone performance that gets people in the groove and sets an energetic tone for the evening. I charge £265 for a one-hour set, which includes travel in and around Glasgow. For events outside Glasgow, we can chat about travel arrangements. I usually plug into the venue’s sound system, but for smaller gatherings or home events, I can provide my own sound equipment. I perform on both baritone and alto saxophone: the baritone enhances basslines and drives the groove, while the alto carries melodies and hooks. SPECIAL REQUESTS Want a specific song included? I’m happy to incorporate special song requests into your set — just provide your choice at least 4 weeks before the performance date. This allows time to arrange it properly and ensure it fits seamlessly within the flow of the set. OTHER SERVICES Ceremonial music.
