Allow us to introduce ourselves: I am JJ, and I am Saruna. Together, we form the dynamic duo that captivates audiences through our musical synergy and heartfelt performances. Our story begins with individual paths that converged into a shared passion for the magic of music. My name is JJ, a passionate and confident pianist who started at the age of 6. I had quite a comfortable musical journey coming from a family of musicians however, that doesn’t take away from the hours of practice put in daily to perfect the artistry. I started as most pianists, classically trained, however after dedicating 7 years of my life to the genre I decided to take a new route studying jazz at the guildhall school of music. This allowed me to open up my variety of playing and for a larger audience to enjoy my music. As most singers, singing began as soon as i could use my voice, and coming from a culture where music and singing is used to rejoice, come together, bring light, grieve, my love for music flourished and became even bigger than i could’ve ever imagined. I decided to train up on my voice and put myself out there to gain experience in performing. This is what makes me confident to say i’m professional in what i do. My aim is to connect with others through the melodies i produce.
