Verified profile

Inês is originally from Portugal, but moved to London in 2014 to study at the Royal College of Music, where she completed both her Bachelor and Master Degrees. Inês is passionate about chamber music and orchestra. She was a member of the prizewinning Salomé Quartet and currently started the new Eunoia Duo, who will have their Wigmore Hall debut in October 2022. Currently, she is on trial with the Ulster Orchestra for principal second violin, and she just finished a 2-year scheme with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Foyle Future Firsts. She frequently freelances with other main UK orchestras, such as the Philharmonia and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Inês has performed in numerous festivals and venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Cadogan Hall, and others. Her interests go beyond performing: Inês is passionate about community and outreach, and making music available to all, specially those who cannot normally access it. She was Wigmore Hall’s Trainee Music Leader for 2021/22, and particularly loves brining music workshops to communities who may identify as vulnerable or marginalised. She works frequently with people living with dementia and also created and delivered a pilot project for people in addiction recovery, which explored music and mindfulness tools to support wellbeing.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

My character is what seems to stand out the most during my performances: my clients and audience members often highlight my natural positivity (as I do smile a lot!) and my passion when I play the violin.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

As a chamber musician, concert venues include a great number of the major London venues: the Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Kings Place, Milton Court Hall at the Barbican Centre, among others.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I have a very diverse artistic background, and that aspect surely influenced my open-mindedness and curiosity about all types of music and art. I enjoy listening to music from Classical to Blues, Rock to Jazz, African to Grunge, and I really love this about myself!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Performing at the Wigmore Hall with my string quartet, the Salomé Quartet. It was a memorable experience because I go to the Wigmore Hall so often as they have the most amazing musicians performing in their gorgeous stage every day, so being able to perform in that same stage was a dream come true.

Do you have different line-up options?

I can perform as a solo violinist, and I am also part of the Salomé Quartet (www.salomequartet.com) who is also happy to consider booking for events - you can find more about us on our website!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I will always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know.

How much time do you need to set up?

I like to arrive at least 30 minutes to 1 hour before the start of the event, to get to know the space and the acoustics.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Of course! I'm definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event, and I will be happy to consider your own suggestions.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes! I bring my own instrument to play acoustically and my music stand.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If there is a special song you'd like me to learn I am happy to do this for you! There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.
