The Band of the Home Counties Pipes and Drums are a group of professional musicians formed in 2009 following an event and during their annual BBQ. It was suggested that although most were members of existing Pipe Bands or Solo Pipers, they wished to have their own individual identity as a Pipe Band when performing together at functions, thus The Home Counties Pipes & Drums was agreed to be their collective name and the band continues to go from strength to strength. All experienced and highly skilled musicians this brought them together through a passion for their hobby and fo promote traditional highland bagpipe music. The Band including a dance troop, are available for large events such as fetes, festivals, parades and promotional launches or smaller events to suit the clients individual requirements. Customer questions

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

In Total there are 38 Pipers and 16 drummers who play with The Home counties pipes and Drums and an average band consists at a 12 piper to 8 drummer ratio and understandably are subject to availability but all are highly professional musicians

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes we do, you define the amount of Pipers and drummers you require ranging from a solo piper - Mini Band - Full Marching Band.and we will price accordingly

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

“We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

This is not practical with a marching band however we have attended events where the organisations have provided additional background music during our performance

How much time do you need to set up?

We normally arrive at least and hour prior to our start time in order to change into uniform and tune up as a band

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Of Course and due to highland tunes being in different time signatures we will advise which tunes go together from your preferences

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Unless we are performing on stage we do not often require PA equipment however when it is required normally a sound tech will mic us up and the event organisers normally ensure this is available to us

Can you learn song requests before the event?

: “If a Tune is not included in our Tune list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special Tune you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you given enough notice

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We are very professional in our delivery of Highland Bagpipe Music and pride ourselves in being approachable for any questions the audience may have between sets. People also like to have photographs taken with a Highland Pipe Band and we can always accommodate these requests

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We have performed in various formations throughout the United Kingdom and overseas including Canada, Europe, The United States, The Caribbean, Moscow and Poland to name a few

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We have no one artist we are influence by but tend to be influence by each others enthusiasm and pleasure in promoting Highland Bagpipe Music and Dance

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Definitely Sir Rod Stewart's 2019 Stadium Tour in which members of the band were asked to perform at 8 of the 11 scheduled concerts.
