About The Haverettes All Girls Marching Band

Military Styled Band that perform locally and nationally entertaining a variety of crowds. Most recently we performed on This Morning!!
Marching band
Upminster
Public liability insurance of £5 million

The Haverettes were started in 1965 by a couple from Hornchurch, Essex named Alf and Sylvia Smith. This was because their daughter could only march behind the all boys band as a majorette. Over the years the band have gone from strength to strength, going from a one song routine to a huge repertoire and various displays under our belt. We have had a major impact at various levels in National Competitions and now regularly compete at the highest level in Traditional Youth Marching Band (TYMBA) contests. The band have also traveled all over Europe and even to the USA to perform in the Macy's Day Parade! As well as being part of various music videos (Inspiral Carpets) and online adverts (for Mulberry).

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We are one of only two military styled all girls marching bands in the UK. We’re well known for our white skirts and burgundy jackets! The band is always complimented on their performances.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Various venues across the UK: • The Royal Albert Hall, London • Wembley • O2 Brixton Academy • ITV Studios - for This Morning

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

The Royal Marines Band.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Being on This Morning for an opening of a competition!

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes. We can have just the brass section made up of Cornets, Flugelhorns, Tenor Horns and Baritones. Just percussion made up of Snare drums, cymbals, bass drum and xylophone (if required) or both together. We also have a bugler should that be required.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try to be flexible on timings as we know not everything always goes to plan! Just let us know, as soon as possible, about any changes and we can try to accommodate.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We actually don’t have access to this equipment so no we can’t.

How much time do you need to set up?

With any performance we just need to see how much room we have and then we can plan. We won’t need any more than 30 minutes set up time.

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes! Marching is part of our performances so will happily incorporate with a static performance if needed.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes, you can pick any songs from our set it’s and we’ll work them together for you.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

N / A

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If there’s anything you’d specifically like us to play and it’s not on our list just ask. As long as we have time to purchase and learn the song before your event (roughly a month depending on complexity). Just know that this will mean there’s an extra charge for this service of £50 to take into account rehearsal time and purchasing of music scores.
