When I was 3 I saw Louis Armstrong on TV. Hooked on 1920s – 1930s jazz and swing ever since. I bring the era to life. Guaranteed vintage wow. Real 1920s-30s singing style plus band or orchestra. Your event will be a dazzling Hollywood experience. Think vintage glamour, prohibition and speakeasies. Sold out shows for the Sydney Festival (twice), Waiheke International Jazz Festival (NZ), annual Great Art Deco Ball and more. On radio I bring you the award-winning Phantom Dancer live swing jazz show heard on 20 stations and online. In movies you may have seen me with Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge! and with Adrien Brody and John Goodman. On TV, in Barons (ABC), The Last Days of the Space Age (Disney +), Year Of (Stan) and many more. We’d also love to play for your wedding, birthday, house party and corporate event. ENQUIRE NOW "5 stars. Poppleton’s vocals capture the essence of the swing years with uncanny accuracy." John Gilbert eJazzNews (U.S) "It would take an extremely jaded heart not to smile and tap your feet, much less dance around the room, to Greg Poppleton." Budd Kopman All About Jazz (U.S) "Last year at the Melbourne Jazz Festival and the Thredbo Jazz Festival I saw some great acts. I made Greg Poppleton Sydney Jazz Band an offer on the spot." John Quigley Director Waiheke International Jazz Festival "Greg’s pleasing, vintage voice... impressive portamento slides on "The Charleston"... refreshes well-worn standards again and again on “Five Foot Two Eyes of Blue” and “I Wish I Could Shimmy Like My Sister Kate.” Dave Doyle Jr The Syncopated Times (U.S) "Captures the 1920s - 1930s vocal style to perfection." Kevin Jones Jazz critic The Australian newspaper and Fine Music Sydney "A very warm thank you for your magical addition to our wedding day. Everyone has commented that the band was just excellent and asked how we found you guys. It was such an honour to have your band playing at our special day and thank you very much for accepting. All in all, the band was a wonderful hit and we will no doubt be recommending you to everyone for years to come." Alenka and Justus "My son’s wedding was sensational. I’ve had nothing but compliments from my guests about your band. Thank you for making it such a memorable evening!" Jil Swinnerton "Thank you very much to you and your band for helping make our KingGee/Stubbies gala dinner fun and memorable. I would highly recommend your band for anyone holding a 1920s theme." Lily Lee Group Marketing Manager, King Gee and Stubbies "Superb. Made the event wonderful." Jan Alewood Birthday Party "You were fantastic!!!! Greg and his band played for my 50th birthday and were fantastic. They were perfect for my vintage Hollywood theme with a song list great for mingling and dancing at the Golden Age Cinema Bar.
