Fitz Swing, established in 1990, has grown into one of Cambridge's most sought-after big bands. With 20 talented young musicians we deliver an exceptional mix of classic swing, jazz, funk, and Latin, perfect for any occasion. Renowned for our performances at prestigious May Balls, we also bring our dynamic sound to weddings, parties, corporate events and concerts. Our extensive experience includes multiple recording sessions and a strong reputation for creating unforgettable musical experiences. Our instrumental repertoire covers Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Neal Hefti and Sammy Nestico plus some more modern Latin and funk numbers such as Funky Cha-Cha by Arturo Sandoval, The Chicken by Jaco Pastorius and Computer by Bob Mintzer. We have two fantastic vocalists who can perform a range of pieces from the Great American Songbook including artists such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Natalie Cole and Cab Galloway as well as more modern party numbers such as Can't Take My Eyes off You. We are also open to taking repertoire requests so please don't hesitate to mention songs you might want us to play in your booking!

Do you have different line-up options?

Are preferred line up is our full 20-piece big band (5 saxophones, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, keyboard, guitar, bass, drums, percussion and 2 vocalists) as we believe this will provide the best experience for your event. If our full big band is not suitable we can offer a smaller 5 player group to play jazz standards (drums, bass, guitar/keyboard, 2 horns)

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We’re committed to flexibility to ensure your event runs smoothly. If your schedule shifts before the event, just let us know

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We can play music through our PA before and after our set as well as in breaks for no extra costs.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 2 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are shaped by extensive experience to keep guests dancing and having a great time. However we would be more than happy to discuss your preferences and tailor the music to suit your event perfectly.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes our prices in include all use, transport and set up of all equipment.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

One song request is included to our prices.
