Egerton Strings is a group of highly-skilled professional musicians based in the north-west of England and north-east of Wales. With extensive training and years of experience between us in contributing to unforgettable events, we know what it takes to add a classy element to your function and leave a lasting memory for you and your guests. We play music ranging from the classical music of Mozart to the modern-day music of Ed Sheeran, and almost everything in between. Egerton Strings offer a Violin & Cello duo, Violin & Harp duo, and string quartet (two violins, viola & cello) to bring elegance and a great ambiance to your event. All of our musicians are graduates of music conservatoires across the UK, and have played on some of the biggest stages in the country such as the Royal Albert Hall and Bridgewater Hall. As well as this, our musicians are incredibly versatile, adapting their playing to many different genres of music and even different ensembles. We know every event is different, and are happy to take requests for specific songs or genres before your event, and can also take requests from your guests on the day if we have the song in our repertoire. If you're unsure if we'll play something, please ask anyways! Contact Egerton Strings today to elevate your wedding, corporate event, or special occasion where exceptional music is a must.

Egerton Strings played at our company event in mid-Wales. The music was great, and everyone enjoyed the tunes over a glass of prosecco in the garden. Once we sat down to dinner, the music played by them was a perfect accompaniment, and it left a great impression on all of those who attended the Strategy Trip. We loved having the band there and would happily have them play for us again. Thank you for making our evening so special.

James and Nathan really made our wedding day very special. Before the ceremony we were asked which pieces of music we wanted, which added a personal touch to the event and no request was any trouble. Both were professional and many of the guests commented on how extraordinarily talented the duo were. I would highly recommend James and Nathan, especially to those wanting to add extra class to an event at a very reasonable price.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Some clients love how we can get everyone singing and having a good time - others simply love the beautiful music we make, and we get a lot of comments about how we time our music to perfection as the bride comes to the end of her walk down the aisle.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Our players have played at many different wedding venues across Manchester and Cheshire, as well as the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, the Royal Albert Halls in London and other internationally-renowned concert venues in an orchestral setting.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We play music by a lot of artists, but there's some whose music is a cut above the rest - to name a few: Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, The Beatles, Queen, ABBA, Stevie Wonder, Jacob Collier...

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I've been lucky enough to perform in a prom at the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra!

Do you have different line-up options?

We offer a String Quartet, a Violin and Cello Duo (listed as "String Duo") and Violin and Harp Duo (listed as an addon to the String Duo)

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We try to be flexible, and as long as it's by the same day and not by more than a few hours, it shouldn't be a problem. Please communicate any changes as soon as possible to give us time to check with our players and find deputies of equal calibre (if necessary).

How much time do you need to set up?

We aim to arrive at least 45 minutes before our first note. As an acoustic group, our only equipment is music stands, instruments and tablets for our sheet music, which rarely takes over 5 minutes to get together.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Our songlist is a great guide to songs that work well for our different groups. If you're booking us for your ceremony, feel free to pick any songs that aren't on the setlist, and we will discuss these with you and arrange them completely free.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes! Besides being shown where to go and the running order of the day, we typically have very little interaction with our venues. We are totally acoustic.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If you would like a song that isn't in our songlist, we may have simply forgotten to include it, in which case we'd play it for no charge. If it's a song we don't have and we don't know it, there's a £15 charge to cover the price of buying the arrangement. However, for your ceremony, we will learn any songs for free.
