Customer questions
What do your clients love most about your performances?
Clients often comment on the combination of musical excellence, warmth and versatility I bring to a performance. Whether creating an intimate atmosphere or something truly spectacular, I take great care to understand the occasion and make the music feel personal, memorable and perfectly suited to the moment.
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
I’ve performed at many prestigious venues internationally, including King’s College Cambridge, St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Sydney Opera House and St Mary’s Cathedral Sydney, alongside concert halls, cathedrals, churches and private venues throughout the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia and the USA.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
My influences are wonderfully varied: from Bach, Mozart and Rachmaninoff to the great English choral tradition and musicians I’ve been fortunate to work alongside. I’m particularly inspired by performers who combine technical brilliance with spontaneity, imagination and a real ability to communicate with an audience.
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
One of the great privileges of my career was serving as Organ Scholar of the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge, performing and broadcasting with one of the world’s most celebrated choirs. My career has since taken me internationally as a conductor, organist and pianist, including performances across Europe, Asia, Australia and the USA.
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
I always aim to be as flexible as possible. If your timings change slightly in the lead-up to the event, just let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate them. For significant changes, particularly those affecting arrival or performance times, we can discuss what is possible.
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
This is not usually part of a classical musican's service!
How much time do you need to set up?
For most performances, I usually allow around 30–60 minutes to set up and prepare, depending on the instrument, venue and programme. Where I’m performing on a venue’s organ or piano, I may also require some time beforehand to familiarise myself with the instrument and acoustics.
Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?
Absolutely. I’m very happy to discuss the programme with you and tailor the music to your event, whether you have particular pieces in mind or would prefer me to curate a programme for you. I can also suggest repertoire to suit the occasion, venue and atmosphere you’d like to create.
Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?
For organ and acoustic piano performances, I would normally use the venue’s instrument. I’m always happy to discuss the practical requirements with you beforehand.
Can you learn specific pieces before the event?
Absolutely. If there’s a particular piece that would make your event especially meaningful, I’m very happy to discuss learning it for you. I have an extensive repertoire, so I may already know your request; for substantial new repertoire or bespoke arrangements, an additional preparation fee may apply.
