Dean is currently studying with Axel Everaert at Conservatorium Maastricht, The Netherlands. Prior to this, he studied music at the University of Manchester, graduating in 2014, and worked as a music teacher in schools across Greater Manchester and as a freelance soloist and choral singer. Previous engagements have included singing for Hans Zimmer Live 2017 at Liverpool Echo Arena, live broadcasts and performances with Manchester Chamber Choir and BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, recordings with Kantos and the RNCM Wind Orchestra, performances at the Sixteen's Sounds Sublime Festival with Manchester Singers, and performances and recordings with the Halle Choir and Orchestra.
Previous roles include: Nanki-Pooh (excerpts) in 'The Mikado' at Conservatoirum Maastricht, Peter Quint (Excerpts) in Britten's 'Turn of the Screw' at AIMS Summer School 2017, Le Baron de Campotasso in Offenbach's 'Les Brigands'(Conservatorium Maastricht), Tamino in Mozart's 'Magic Flute' (City of Manchester Opera), Don Curzio in Mozart's 'le nozze di Figaro' (University of Manchester), Duke of Dunstable ('Patience') and The Defendant ('Trial by Jury') both with the Manchester Universities' Gilbert and Sullivan Society, and Frederic ('Pirates of Penzance') at the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival. Dean was also a member of WNO's 2015 youth opera company where he participated in workshops led by Mary King, Annabel Arden, and Fergus Sheil.
Dean also performs as an oratorio soloist and recent performances have included: Bach's Magnificat in D and 'St. John's Passion', Handel's 'Messiah' and 'Dettingen Te Deum', and Vaughan Williams' 'Serenade to Music'.
Future engagements include chorus in Opera Zuid's production of Bernstein's 'A Quiet Place' across the Netherlands and Luxembourg and four recitals of music for voice and harp at PAS Festival Maastricht.
Dean is available for engagements in Hampshire, London, Manchester, and continental Europe.
