Buckinghamshire-born Mezzo-Soprano Chloë Pardoe is in her third year at Birmingham Conservatoire, studying Vocal and Operatic Studies under the tuition of Catherine Benson. Throughout her time at the Conservatoire, Chloë has won the Leamington Music Prize, the Corton Hyde Early Music Prize and was a finalist in the Ambache Prize.
Chloë has played operatic roles and chorus in many productions working under the direction of Janet Haney, Michael Gieleta and Michael Barry. Roles include Hansel Hansel and Gretel, Dido Dido and Aeneas, Sister Jean Dialogues des Carmelites, Ruth Pirates of Penzance, Chorus La Vie Parisienne, and Ate in Ninja, a world premiere by composer Ulf-Diether Soyka.
Solo Oratorio performances include Saint Sæn’s Oratorio de Noël. Rutter’s Feel the Spirit and Haydn’s Harmoniemesse.
Chloë has also had choral experience singing in the Conservatoire’s Camerata Choir and has performed Delius Sea Drift, conducted by Lionel Friend and Mozart and Fauré Requiem under the baton of Paul Spicer.
Spring 2015 includes Chloë singing Mezzo-Soprano in Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn's Nelson Mass and singing with her award winning vocal sextet Amici Cantantes in various concerts around the United Kingdom under the direction of Andrew King. She is also playing the role of Louise in the premiere of Michael Wolter's new opera Ava's Wedding.
