The Contemporary Music Group usually gives three concerts each year. In recent years it has given concerts of contemporary Polish music, a 70th-birthday tribute to the American composer Steve Reich, and marked the 100th-birthday of American composer Elliott Carter and the 100th-anniversary of the birth of Oliver Messiaen. In 2013-14 the CMG presented a concert celebrating contemporary music by African composers (including Joshua Uzoigwe, Akin Euba, J.H. Kwabena Nketia, Halim El-Dabh, and Peter Louis Van Dijk) and continued its survey of contemporary British vocal music with a concert of works by living female composers.
