Pianist
Tadcaster
Public liability insurance of £5 million

Originally from North Yorkshire, Ben set up shop in London in 2016 studying BMus Composition at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. During 7 years in London, he built up a reputation as one of South-East England's most reliable and booked out piano players, as well as joining the Music Students for Hire team to supply nearly 700 gigs a year with musicians across the whole UK. In 2023, Ben moved back up to North Yorkshire to continue his musical journey.

Ben is an amazing pianist. Really great to liaise with in the run up to the event, extremely professional and very welcoming of requests before and during the booking. Highly recommend!

Ben played my 60th birthday party and did well to adapt to my wife's odd demands of Scottish folk tunes. Luckily, when the crowd arrived and demanded the likes of ABBA and The Beatles, Ben was able to tinkle them out with great enthusiasm

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

My flexibility! For those moments when your 'fun' Auntie Sue requests that ABBA song she loves, I'm happy to try and play that request.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

No worries! Timings are constantly shifting around - just let me know the new timings and I should be able to accommodate them.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

A background music playlist can certainly be provided in between sets on occasions where I have been booked with my keyboard.

How much time do you need to set up?

If there is a piano at the venue, I will aim to arrive around 30 mins before so I can ensure I start on time. No set up required. If I have been booked with my keyboard, I will need around 30 minutes to set up everything and will aim to arrive around 45 mins before the booking start time

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Absolutely - piano's are meant to be played!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Please do - pianists are some of the most versatile musicians out there, so if you have any additional requests, just ask away!

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

Of course - I have a portable Roland FP-60 keyboard and amplifier. This will usually be available within the quote, but extra charges may apply in more complicated locations i.e. central London!

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Absolutely - the world is your oyster!
