Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I'm a gigging jazz pianist so my main shows are at jazz clubs and jazz festivals around the country! I've played at venues including Pizza Express Soho, Glastonbury, Shambala, Propyard, Total Refreshment Centre, The Jam Jar, Bristol Beacon, as well as a current bimonthly residency upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Many of the jazz piano greats! Bill Evans, Fats Waller, Keith Jarrett and Brad Mehldau :)

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I have a current bimonthly residency at Ronnie Scott's: the biggest jazz club in the UK!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know.!

How much time do you need to set up?

I need half an hour to set up if bringing my keyboard and amplifier! It tends to be just two trips from the car so I can be ready to go pretty quickly!

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Yes, of course - as long as the piano is in working order and in tune, then I'm happy to play on it!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

I tend to play songs from my set list based on the atmosphere in the room! I always invite clients to let me know if they're prefer the music to be louder/quieter/faster/slower on the day and can adapt accordingly! If you have any particular favourite songs from my setlist I can certainly include those if you let me know!

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

Yes! I can bring my stage piano and amplifier to any event if there is not a piano!

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Feel free to mention this when booking! I can normally include your favourite songs with no extra charge but do let me know so that I can tell you for sure!

It was a pleasure to have Alex and his band play at our wedding. We’ve been following the group for a number of years and they brought all their energy to our weekend. On the Friday night they played jazz, while on Saturday they upped the tempo to funk, which quickly filled the dancefloor. A talented group! They went out of their way to fit into our arrangements and did everything with a smile. A delight!

Alex is a hugely talented musician. I have seen him perform many times over the years, solo and in groups, and couldn’t think of anyone better to play some live solo piano during our wedding reception. We were so happy that he was available! He truely played his socks off, playing jazz standards from memory and some of his own musics, and was a big favourite with all the guests. We had to deal with COVID rules threatening to change, but Alex kept in communication throughout and understood our situation. In summary he is a talented professional and would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting a touch of class to their event.
