About Aled

Acoustic guitarist & singer bringing timeless classics and unexpected hits to your wedding – singalongs, romance & packed dancefloors.
Singing guitarist
Cardiff
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Music has always been at the heart of who I am, and performing as a wedding singer and guitarist allows me to share that passion in the most meaningful of ways. There’s something incredibly special about playing live on such an important day — creating those magical moments that stay with couples and their guests long after the last song ends. Whether it’s an intimate acoustic rendition of a first dance, or a rousing singalong that fills the dance floor, my goal is always the same: to bring people together through music. I first picked up a guitar as a teenager and was immediately hooked on the way a simple melody could connect people. Over the years, I’ve honed my craft by performing in pubs, clubs, and private events across South Wales, developing a wide repertoire that blends crowd-pleasing favourites with unique acoustic twists on unexpected songs. Along the way, I’ve grown into the type of performer who can adapt to any atmosphere — from relaxed daytime sets during drinks receptions to high-energy singalongs that lift the roof during evening parties. What makes my act different is the variety I offer. I’m just as comfortable performing timeless anthems from artists like Oasis, Bruce Springsteen, and Sam Fender as I am reimagining pop hits from Whitney Houston, ABBA, or Ricky Martin in stripped-back, soulful arrangements. People often tell me this mix is what makes their night — because there’s something for everyone, whether it’s the nostalgic pull of a Britpop classic or the surprise of hearing a party anthem delivered acoustically in a fresh and engaging way. Professionalism is at the core of how I approach every booking. I understand that weddings are once-in-a-lifetime occasions, and I take pride in working closely with each couple to ensure the music perfectly reflects their vision for the day. From learning special requests to carefully planning setlists that flow with the schedule, I aim to make the process stress-free and enjoyable. I also bring all my own professional equipment and provide a polished sound that works for venues of all sizes — from cosy barns to grand reception halls. Some of my highlights so far include performing at events where guests of all ages ended up singing arm-in-arm to classic anthems, creating a genuine festival-style atmosphere, as well as playing stripped-down acoustic versions of romantic ballads. These moments are why I do what I do — because music has the power to transform an event into something unforgettable. As a performer, I bring not just my voice and guitar, but also a relaxed, friendly personality that helps everyone feel at ease. I want couples to feel confident that when they book me, they’re not just hiring a musician, but someone who genuinely cares about making their big day as special as it can possibly be. If you’re looking for a wedding singer and guitarist who can combine heartfelt romance with lively, feel-good energy, I’d love to be part of your celebration. Together, we’ll create the soundtrack to memories that last a lifetime.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients often tell me they love the mix of energy and emotion I bring to my performances — from sing-along classics to heartfelt acoustic versions of well-known songs. I aim to create a relaxed, feel-good atmosphere where guests can join in, dance, or simply enjoy the music. People often mention how personal and engaging the sets feel.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I’ve performed at a variety of venues across South Wales, including corporate events at Revolutions (Cardiff City Centre) and Sophia Gardens (Cardiff), as well as weddings at Bedwellty House (Tredegar) and Canada Lake Lodge (Creigiau). Each setting has been a pleasure to play, and I always tailor my set to suit the venue, audience, and atmosphere.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I’ve been inspired by a mix of classic and modern artists — from the songwriting of Bruce Springsteen and Oasis to the energy of Sam Fender and the versatility of Ed Sheeran. Recently, I’ve been listening to a lot of folk-stomp style artists like Myles Smith, Mumford & Sons, and Gerry Cinnamon — those songs always go down brilliantly live.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

For me, the most high-profile gigs are always weddings. It’s such a huge moment in people’s lives, and being trusted to play a part in that is an absolute honour. I never take it for granted — every first dance, every singalong, every smile means the world.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I’ll always do my best to be flexible so your event runs smoothly. If your timings change slightly in the run-up to the day, just let me know as soon as possible and I’ll adjust where I can. Significant changes (like different set times or extra hours) can usually be accommodated too — we’ll just confirm any impact on setup or fees beforehand.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely! I can play background music through my PA system before, between, and after my live sets to keep the atmosphere going. This is included at no extra cost. If you’d like me to keep the music going after my final live set — I can provide a DJ service (including DJ decks and laptop)

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually arrive 90mins before I start. As soon as the PA is on (10mins) background music can be played. If needed I can set up and play in 20min.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes! I have over 150 songs on my website. You can create your own custom set list (and some clients have done exactly that) I have become good at reading the room, so even with a setlist, I will change it mid-set, but I am there for you - I'm happy to play whatever songs mean the most to you on your day :)

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, I bring everything from the full set up (lights, monitors, In ear monitors, drum pedal, my own power supply) to a minimal set up (just my guitar and my voice)

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, and I would encourage you to ask. One thing about me, is I love to learn new songs :) So please ask if you have a special request.
