I’m Zaz, a professional vocalist with almost 15 years’ experience performing and recording professionally. I perform in various set ups - often as a soloist, tailoring backing tracks by adding my own recorded backing vocals to enhance the quality of my act. I also manage and sing lead vocals in my covers band, which I have grown since 2011. The band started out as a guitar-vocal duo, expanded to an acoustic 4 piece with double bass and cajon, but has now evolved into a collective of keys, bass, full drum kit, guitar, sax, and occasionally shared vocals (male). On my journey as a vocalist I have performed as part of many other combos from a piano duo, to a 12-piece show band, to a Salsa ensemble to name a few. I have the honour and pleasure of being backing vocalist for some sensational London artists - Desta French, Jessica Wilde, Laville, and some time ago, Matt Henry MBE (The Voice, Kinky Boots) Working with these artists granted me the opportunity supporting highly acclaimed musicians such as Roy Ayers, John Legend and Fatback Band. The rich, soulful and Latin sounds from these artists embodies exactly what I’m passionate about as a vocalist and as a lover of music in general. My vocal style is heavily influenced and moulded by my obsession with genres such as Neo-Soul, 80s Funk, House & UK Garage, Brazilian jazz-funk & old school Salsa music - and my repertoire reflects this in every single performance with songs in English, Spanish and Portuguese. I also offer session vocals and have my own home studio so am more than happy to record remotely if a studio session isn't doable.
