I am a second year cellist at the Royal College of Music. Last year I was awarded an entrance scholarship and the Michael Warren Bursary. Before this, I studied at Chethams School of Music for two years, where I learnt with the head of strings, Nicholas Jones. Prior to that, I attended the City of London School for Girls where I was a music scholar. I attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama from the age of eight until I was sixteen. 2 years ago, when auditioning for degree level music places I was offered a place to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, The Royal Northern College of Music, and the Royal College of Music, where I chose to study. I have attended many music courses throughout the years; Pro Corda has been my most regular where I attended most years ( sometimes more than once a year!) from the age of 11. I also performed for the Young Virtuosi festival in 2011, touring the South of France with the final concert in London. I have performed at many of the UKs most prestigious venues such as the Wigmore Hall, The Bridgewater Hall and the Wales Millennium Centre. I passed my Grade 8 Cello when I was 13, and my Grade 7 piano at 14, both with distinction. In 2013 I was chosen to perform at the TedEx Youth Conference in Manchester, where I performed Blochs prayer. I am part of the Nesta Trio, all members of the RCM, formed last year. In my last year of School I led the Chethams Symphony Orchestra in the final concert, with the program consisting of Debussy and Ravel. I have orchestral experience under Sir Colin Davis, when I was part of the Barbican Young Orchestra.
