Yuki Okuyama

The baritone Yuki Okuyama is an Honours Graduate from the Tokyo University of the Arts where he began his studies with Professor Neil Mackie who encouraged him to continue his vocal journey in London. Yuki then won the Morag Noble and Kathleen Creed scholarship to study with Professor Lynton Atkinson at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance where he recently graduated with a Masters degree with distinction. Yuki has just finished working with Hurn Court Opera in their productions of La Bohème. He has also been a valued member of the Ensemble Fantômas in their production of The Red Room composed by Amir Mahyar Tafreshipour in the role of The Traveller for the Tête a Tête Opera Festival which was featured on the BBC World News. He enjoyed a personal success performing the title role in Don Giovanni under a baton of Dimitri Scarlato at London's Italian Institute. His recent solo work in oratorio includes Carl Orff Carmina Burana at the Lighthouse Poole with Maxime Tortelier, Vaughan Williams Serenade to Music, John Stainer The Crucifixion, Faure Requiem, Mozart Coronation Mass and Bach Ich habe genug (BWV 82) and several other cantatas. He will make his London recital debut later this year in the Japan Association series.
