Yohane-Liam Osafo is a violinist and composer who has played internationally for celebrity events and in iconic venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Centre, Sage Gateshead and Design Museum. He first started playing the piano soon before taking the violin as his principle study. In those early years he played in orchestras including the LSSO and participated in projects with the likes of the OAE and Southbank Sinfonia. Having spent much of his youth performing live improvisational music he took a focussed interest in jazz, blues and fusion, concurrent with his classical music studies, earning a BA (hons) in music. In this time (2015-2019) he chaired ensembles, started a quartet, pioneered new initiatives, and developed his musicianship through an Erasmus exchange. In 2019-2020 Yohane spent a year writing, arranging and performing in Knightsbridge as an intern for a globally recognised church. He still collaborates with this group as an orchestrator and violinist for events hosting thousands of people at a time. Upon finishing this programme he spent 2 years completing his masters degree, continuing his research into church music history and the current applications of music in modern church services. Yohane has a versatile repertoire that clients enjoy at events including weddings, dinners, concerts and parties. These bookings have taken place throughout the UK and EU. His combination of a dynamic sound and expressive playing inspired by jazz, neo soul and ambient music makes him a popular choice for live sessions including festivals and studio recordings. He has contributed to sessions and shoots for both local and multi-award winning artists. As well as performing, teaching or composing, he is a high-level church musician who plays the violin, drums and piano using programmes including Ableton, MainStage and dLive. His high standards and proficiency with the most common church music technologies has allowed him a regularly contribute to services, large-scale conferences and concerts throughout the country.

Yohane was excellent!!! Massively professional & played songs I asked for outside of his set list so beautifully, you would think it was his own!! Yohane took extra steps & went out of his way to meet requests I’d made & I’m so grateful. Me & my partner were so enamoured and impressed. Would definitely recommend, pls book!!!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Do you have different line-up options?

For violin there is the choice of an electric-acoustic violin, either plugged into my own or the venue's sound system, or a classical acoustic violin, either unamplified or amplified with equipment provided by the venue the venue.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

No problem! I always try to be flexible to help ensure your event runs smoothly. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just be sure to let me know.

How much time do you need to set up?

I always arrive a minimum of 30-45 minutes before the performance time as this allows for some flexibility around on the day event timings.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I'm always happy to chat through the set list and make sure that it works for your event. Song requests are also welcome if made reasonably in advance of the event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Absolutely! I can both play acoustically or amplified through my portable sound system.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Certainly. This is generally no problem in advance of the event. For especially last minute requests and depending on the piece of music there may be a £30 service fee to account for rehearsal and preparation time.
