Xavier graduated in Classics from St John’s College, Cambridge in 2015, where he remained for a further year as a choral scholar and lay clerk. While a student he participated in many Cambridge University Opera Society productions, playing roles such as Monostatos (The Magic Flute), Satan (Temptations by Rhiannon Randle), the title role in a staging of Handel’s oratorio, Jephtha and Lensky (Eugene Onegin). He has appeared as a soloist on many recordings by St John’s College Choir, most notably singing Mendelssohn’s Ave Maria on ‘The Call’. Xavier has sung as a soloist in many venues across the country and abroad, including at the Ambronnay Festival with the consort Ghislieri Musica and in performances of Bach’s St John Passion in Ely Cathedral and Mozart’s Requiem in Salisbury Cathedral.
