Xavier is a versatile and passionate cellist and viola da gambist dedicated to the music business and with a lot of experience in social events, weddings, conmemorations and public services. He is a Royal College of Music student, as a Linda Hill scholar. He is studying with Sarah McMahon and is on his second year of Postgraduate studies (MPerf) in Historical cello. Xavier Lowe also takes lessons on the Viola da Gamba from Reiko Ichise. Xavier is part of the Lowe Ensemble, which has been awarded by the BREMF (Brighton Early Music Festival) as a collaborating group for the 2024-2025 season. He is also part of the Aglaia Ensemble group, which was awarded the second prize in 2022 by the Estella Early Music Festival, Navarra. He regularly gives chamber concerts in England and Spain, and has performed with the Ensemble Poseidon's Goat in Denmark and Vienna. Xavier has been part of the APAC Festival of Bolivia in 2024, where he has offered five concerts together with staff and students of the Royal College of Music in various places in Bolivia. Xavier has also had the honor of playing for HM the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito, on his visit in June of 2024 to London and the Royal College of Music. He played an original 1682 viola da gamba for the emperor, in company of Reiko Ichise and Apolline Khou, also on instruments from the RCM Museum. Xavier is a cellist in the Opera of Bauge since 2023, where he also takes part in the conducting masterclasses offered by Maestro Kostantinos Diminakis. Xavier is also a devoted music teacher and has had seven years of experience in music schools and also on public state schools, where he has taught History of Music, cello, piano, music theory and Baroque recorder.
