William Fielding entered Blackburn cathedral choir as a chorister in 2006. William commenced learning the organ with Samuel Hudson during his time as a chorister. In September of 2015, William gained a place at St. Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh, where he is now taught the organ by Duncan Ferguson, Master of the choristers at St. Mary’s cathedral. William has received masterclasses from Darius Battiwalla amongst others, and has had opportunities to play the organs of cathedrals around England and France, such as Salisbury Cathedral, Peterborough Cathedral, York Minster, and the famous Cavaille-col of “la Sainte-Trinité” in Paris.
William is looking forward to another year with Duncan Ferguson, and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead after St. Mary’s.
