With over a decade of professional live music experience each, Rob and Rich are fully equipped to entertain any crowd. Based in York, ‘What the Duck!’ are well versed in travelling across Yorkshire to give unforgettable live performances. Traditional folk guitar techniques mixed with live loop pedals and some subtle synthesiser/drum machine magic give ‘What the Duck!’ a nostalgic sound with a very small footprint. Make no mistake, this is no usual acoustic 2-piece. You've never heard two people make such a big sound! The songs are fast, loud and impossible not to sing and dance to!

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line is 1 vocalist and 1 guitarist/synth/vocalist

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We're always happy to work with you in any situation. No event is the same, and we are ready to roll with the punches and work on the fly!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

No problem! We do all that you let us know so that we can factor in the extra time if you would like to use the pa after the performance.

How much time do you need to set up?

We can be set up in 30-40 minutes. However if your event requires a sound engineer (if the venue capacity is above 60 people) then we would ask for at least an hour.

Can you roam around while you perform?

Our singer has been known to jump in and dance with the crowd when things get going so watch out!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Sure to the nature of our performance requests tend to be difficult. The majority of our sets tend to be broken up into medleys of songs that weave into each other musically. Therefore changing the order can be VERY problematic.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

We have a PA that is capable of providing sound to a room with a capacity of 60. If your event takes place in a room that caters for more than 60 (even if there are less than 60 attending) we strongly recommend adding a sound engineer for an additional cost. We have several sound engineers that we've used multiple times who we are happy to organise.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Don't hold back from asking us if there is a song we would consider playing! We are always itching to add new music to our set. However we do have a unique style that makes it difficult sometimes to make a song "fit". So we will always give it a go, however there is a chance we may come back to you and say it doesn't really work sorry.
