Wendy is an American-born double bassist. She started her musical training at age four on piano, and quickly picked up the violin at age 5. By age 11, she began studying the double bass. This became her main focus, and in 2010 she moved to Glasgow, Scotland, to study music performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She completed her bachelors there in July 2014.
Wendy has studied with teachers such as Glenn Dewey of the US Marine Band, Jeffrey Weisner of the National Symphony Orchestra, Iain Crawford of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and soloist and professor of double bass at Shenandoah University, Donovan Stokes. She has performed in masterclasses for world-renowned bassists Rinat Ibragimov, Joel Quarrington, and Thomas Martin.
In January 2017, Wendy moved to London to begin a year-long fellowship with Southbank Sinfonia, with whom she will be performing in weekly concerts, taking part in various training workshops, and traveling to Tuscany, Italy for the Anghiari Festival in July.
