Vilija Leitanaitė

I am a jazz singer working with a live jazz band in London and South East England. You can hire me for festivals, clubs, live music venues, residencies, parties, weddings, corporate events, etc. I perform with piano or guitar accompaniment as a duo for smaller scale events and for a smoother more intimate feel; or with a full five piece band for bigger parties when you want to dance to some swing or funk. My seven piece original cosmic fusion (electro - jazz - funk) band Soul Nebula has been successful at filling up London's top jazz venues and engaging people of all tastes and backgrounds. I have extensive experience in studio recording, backing vocals, arranging, song co-writing and improvisation. Having studied classical vocals at Lithuania's National Music Conservatoire for four years I realised that Jazz was not just a fling, but a deep burning passion and my soon to be profession. In pursuit of this career I came to London College of Music to study Jazz Vocals with the amazing Tina May, Iain MacKenzie, Pete Cook and Pete Churchill. I have graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Music with Honours First Class degree and have been awarded a First Class Licentiate of the London College of Music as well as Lutenor prize for an Outstanding Jazz Vocalist. Recently finished a Masters MMus Music Performance (Jazz Vocals) degree through a Scholarship programme, and was awarded a Distinction.
