About Viella Duo

Professional violin and viola duo, formed in 2016 at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama

Violinist Marcello Deidda and violist Katherine Clarke formed the Viella Duo in 2016, having met while studying for their Masters at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. While at the Guildhall, they recorded at Abbey Road Studios in a string quintet for BFI, and had chamber coaching with Matthew Jones and Krzysztof Smietana. As a duo, they are dedicated to exploring lesser known works of repertoire and arranging music for this interesting combination.
