Vicky Yannoula is a contemporary singer and a classical pianist with a rich and diverse portfolio of activities in performance as well as management and education. Alongside her performing, she is the Director of York Music Hub and Chief Executive of the Hackney Youth Orchestras Trust. When on stage, Vicky performs classical repertoire as a pianist, and as a singer she performs contemporary repertoire i.e. art songs, musical theatre, cabaret, folk, jazz, pop, rock and soul. Professional appointments highlights: Deputy Head of Camden Music Service, Head of Scholarships & Artistic Planning at the Drake Calleja Trust, Music Director at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, Music Qualifications Manager at Trinity College London, Head of Keyboard at Ardingly College, Music Lecturer & Chorus Director at Middlesex University. Vicky began receiving piano tuition at the age of eight in Corfu (Greece) where she was born. She continued her piano studies at the National Conservatory of Athens and obtained her Piano Recital Diploma with Distinction and a Special Prize for Exceptional Performance. She holds a Bachelor in Music (Honours) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance from the Royal College of Music and a Masters in Performance from Goldsmiths College. She has given piano solo/chamber music concerts and piano concertos in venues such as the Royal International Pavilion Llangollen, Queen Elizabeth Hall, William Aston Hall, Kings Place and Thessaloniki Concert Halls, she has conducted the Hackney Youth Orchestras Trust orchestras at the Royal Albert Hall, and has collaborated with musicians such as Leonidas Kavakos (violin), Joseph Calleja (tenor), Peter Jablonski (piano) and Maria Farantouri (singer). Vicky Yannoula has released world premiere recordings with Toccata Classics (Shostakovich piano 4-hands, with Jakob Fichert) and with Resonus Classics (Beethoven symphonies arranged for piano 4-hands by Czerny; with George-Emmanuel Lazaridis). She writes songs and piano pieces, and she would love to compose and direct a children’s opera. Current collaborations that explore a variety of voice and piano repertoire, from classical to contemporary, include ‘Words & Music’ performances with humanitarian Terry Waite CBE and Vicky on the piano, voice-piano and piano-duo performances with pianist/composer Neil Crossland, and voice-guitar performances with guitarist/composer Gianluigi Secchi with their 'The Yannoula-Secchi Duo'.

This show was a real boost on a cold winter's night. What a fantastic, warm welcome from Glen Kesby, the General Manager of the club who greeted everyone at the door. Lovely bar upstairs with a decent stock of wines and bottled beers. To cap it all there was a brilliant selection of loves song sung by the fabulous Vicky Yannoula accompanied, with great sensitivity by pianist, Neil Crossland. If I had a minor criticism, it would be that I would have liked to hear at least some of the songs performed without amplification as Vicky Yannoula has such a powerful, pitch-perfect voice - she surely didn't need it.

A wonderful concert in a gorgeous setting. Vicky Yannoula is an amazing artist. Such a wonderful voice. And she is also a classically trained pianist, though did not play tonight. Wonderful choice of songs and music. Overall an amazing evening.

Vicky Yannoula's Song list

Here is an example of songs (many more in repertoire):
Ain't no mountain high
Come what may
Diamonds and rust
Don't stop believing
Easy on me
Edge of seventeen
Falling in love with you
Hallelujah
House of the rising sun
It's all coming back to me
I won't send flowers
Kissed by a rose
Let it go
Listen
Losing my mind
Love me tender
Mack the knife
Maybe this time
Never enough
Nothing else matters
River deep mountain high
Salley gardens
Send in the clowns
Single ladies
Someone like you
Time heals everything
Time to remember
Time to say goodbye
Volare
Wherever he ain't
