If you want chilled jazz, soul, smooth, easy listening or upbeat funky soul (especially 1970's) and hints of reggae, then look no further. Has supported Courtney Pine CBE, Geno Washington, Acoustic Alchemy, Snake Davis and The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. I can play solo or in duo, trio, quartet, quintet. Jazz, Soul, Funk, Smooth, Easy Listening, Reggae. Has been a featured artist for Jazz FM and been played on BBC Radio Merseyside plus a host of Online Radio Stations with live in studio Singer songwriter sessions. Previous or current clients include John Lewis Store, York and restaurant chains. Recently performed at the Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool. Vernon’s relationship with the guitar started in London, where he cut his musical teeth in reggae and jazz funk outfits, playing venues such as Upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s. Influenced by George Benson, Stevie Wonder and War (this is a band by the way and not conflict), Vernon, a Londoner, loves to mix jazz, funk and soul into a cocktail of smooth jazz with a hard edge. Vernon then moved on to mainstream jazz guitar and vocals and has played at various jazz festivals including Southport, Marlborough, Chester, Nantwich Jazz & Blues , Wigan and Audlem including support for ‘Snake Davis’ with the band ‘Afro Blue’ and also with the sextet ‘So What Now’. Vernon has also supported Geno Washington , Acoustic Alchemy and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra Other performances have included opening for Liverpool's Gary Potter also opening for Ron Anthony (Frank Sinatra's last guitarist). Vernon has recently duetted with Andy Hulme, opening for John Pisano (Joe Pass' co-guitarist) & Adrian Ingram.

Absolutely brilliant, talented & polite musician. I cannot recommend this gentleman enough. We booked him to play at a private function of over 80 people and he was excellent. We loved him, the guests loved him and his guitar skills are wonderful. A true gentleman, a great guitarist & singer and a pleasure to listen to. Thoroughly recommended musician.

We booked Vernon for a family celebration at a cottage in North Yorkshire and he did not disappoint! Vernon caught the mood just right and his guitar playing and vocals are excellent. The whole family really enjoyed his set which helped make the occasion special. Vernon is also a lovely guy and got on with everyone really well. Highly recommended!
