Uli Doenitz

Growing up in Germany I played various wind instruments from a young age. I committed to saxophones and clarinet from around 13 years of age, playing in various groups (Jazz, Classical, Klezmer). Musical influences that I have taken with me into my busking performances. I am not playing with any backing tracks, instead seeking to communicate emotions, responding to people, to what is in the air. Since 2022 I am regularly recording music in Cathedrals exploring and working with the particular reverberating echo of that space (which you can hear in my tracks). Music has become my language to express that which cannot be said in words. And still needs to be said. Rather than being noisy I try to explore the silence, listen in to myself, into my environment and find the music that captures it.
