Trio de Salon

Trio de Salon is a woodwind trio formed by three friends and colleagues who for many years have all worked together in a variety of ensembles and orchestras around the UK. They decided to form a small ensemble of their own specialising in background music for functions, weddings and corporate events. Our name was inspired by the composers of the 19th century who used to write Salon Music which was light classical music intended for entertainment. The Trio comprises of Rachel Broadbent on Oboe, Nicky Baigent on Clarinet and Ian Judson on Flute. They are all trained professional musicians and between them have about 65 years of experience! Trio de Salon provides background music for parties, corporate events and weddings and we have played at many events over the years and have provided musical entertainment for celebrities and Royalty. We have provided music for wedding ceremonies in hotels, barns and in a derelict chapel playing classical background music as guests arrive and specific music chosen by our clients for walking down the isle and the signing of the register. We have played background music for wedding breakfasts, parties and dinners where we can provide a lovely mix of music from Classical music and Show Tunes through to Classic Songs and arrangements of the latest Pop songs. We have an extensive repertoire list which is constantly growing and many of the arrangements are done by our own players specially for this ensemble so if there is a specific piece you have in mind, we would be happy to arrange* it for your event. Our aim is to help you create the atmosphere you want for your event and we are happy to discuss with you the kinds of repertoire you would like. *Occasionally we get asked to arrange things that will not work for a trio so will would explain this but most music can be arranged successfully.
