A Brazilian project by the name of ‘Trio Rio’, the ensemble has cut its teeth on the UK scene, performing alongside some of the UK’s finest Brazilian music specialists, including Joao Menezes, acclaimed instrumentalist Parthenope, and samba ensemble Rhythms of the City, at packed venues across London, including Jamboree, Jam in a Jar, and Hampstead Jazz Club. Artfully combining the vibrancy of the Rio de Janeiro Carnival with the intimacy and sophistication of Bossa Nova and Jazz, this small but tight-knit unit of musicians bring a refreshing take on the music of Brazil, with the perfect soundtrack to any event setting. With an available line-up ranging from duo to quintet, with the addition of vocalists and front-line instrumentalists (saxophone / flute), the ensemble is as flexible as is required to meet any client’s requirements.

upon recommendation from a colleague, I booked Trio Rio for a small private party for friends and family. I was worried about noise limitations with having close neighbours, but the guys were really sensitive and accommodating, and kept things lovely and chill. highly recommend these professional, lovely musicians!

Trio Rio were perfect for my wedding reception earlier this year, they were super co-operative and they even got us all up and dancing! We opted to add a singer to make them a Quartet, and Parthenope (I hope i spelled it correctly!) was amazing. definitely reccommend!

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes we can provide a number of combinations! duo: Guitar + either Vocals/Flute/Saxophone Trio: Guitar, Bass, Percussion (Bass can be swapped for Vocals) Quartet: as trio option above, + either Vocals/Flute/Saxophone Quintet: as trio option above, + a choice of two of Vocals/Flute/Saxophone

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free.

How much time do you need to set up?

We can set up really quickly, in about 15 minutes. We usually ask for an arrival time roughly an hour before we are scheduled to start, to allow ample time!

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes! any lineup without Bass can roam freely and play acoustically.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Absolutely, you can pick and choose what you'd like from the set list, if you have any particular requests.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

our PA system is included in the quote price, and we don't usually need a large space on which to perform.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times and preparation.
