The Lux Pop Soul Trio / Quartet

The Lux Pop Soul Trio and Quartet are live bands for weddings and celebrations. The trio is vocal, keys and drums. The quartet adds bass: vocal, keys, bass and drums. Pop soul is the sound. Familiar songs, strong singing, and a groove people recognise in the first few bars. Motown, classic soul, disco, the great pop records, and the current hits that still have a melody worth singing. The vocal leads. Keys carry the harmony and the hooks. Drums keep the time. In the quartet, bass gives each chorus a heavier pocket and lets the keys stretch. The trio is our most compact lineup. One voice, a keyboard player covering the harmony, the hooks and the bass lines, and a drummer locking the groove. In a hotel, a barn, a town hall or a private house, three players can sit near the guests and fill the space. Early on, the music leaves room for conversation. After the first dance, the same three raise the tempo and turn the night into a party. The quartet suits a larger room, a longer guest list, or a night that needs more weight under the songs. Bass rounds out the rhythm section and changes the feel of every chorus. Keys open into the chords, the stabs and the solos.
