A London based folk collective playing music from all over the world with infectious energy, skill and enthusiasm.
An audience’s reaction to the Tribe always results in the same behaviour. Whether the venue is a concert hall or a festival, people just can't help but get up and dance. It's no wonder why; the band is made up of brilliant musicians who always give inspired and energetic performances. The Tinkers' music draws heavily on rich history folk traditions of the British Isles, Europe and beyond. Creative and daring arrangements of traditional reels and jigs are interspersed with songs of hardship, love and drinking, all with messages as poignant in today's age as when the words were first sung. The band aren't afraid to throw in a few curve balls: expect to hear tuba driven dub-step breakdowns, funk riffs and the kind of rich textures only available to those bands with string, wind and brass sections. The band formed in 2011 after playing together in Stamp Collective, another large touring folk band fronted by Joe Broughton and Paloma Trigas of The Urban Folk Quartet. As that collective headed towards its conclusion the Tinkers came into their own and carried with them the same skill, imagination and enthusiasm the Stamp Collective had become known for. The ideal band for any venue or festival, Tribe of Tinkers' aim has always been to wow audiences and they never fail to deliver on the promise.
