Singing has always felt so good to me that I know I was born to share my voice with the world. I love performing and the challenge of expressing the best of myself to inspire and enliven the audience. My musical taste is very diverse but I'd say my preferred vocal style is romantic, soulful and emotive. I'm very versatile, however, and enjoy singing a wide range of styles, tempos and genres, spanning the decades. My mother tells me I could sing before I could talk and I started playing the guitar and the violin when I was 8 years old. I worked my way through the grades and went on to perform regularly in orchestras, and as part of my local church ensemble, throughout my childhood. I even enjoyed an orchestral tour of Italy at age 14, but this was all before I gained the confidence to sing in front of a crowd! As part of my varied career I have worked as a music leader in schools, teaching songs/hymns to children and accompanying them during assemblies and performances. As a music tutor I also provided one on one guitar and vocal lessons to young children and teenagers with autism and various other special educational needs. I aspired to foster their love of music and enjoyed giving some of them the opportunity to perform for the very first time! Eventually it became apparent to me that singing is my true passion, so I decided to shift my focus and pursue vocal training. I mustered the courage to undertake my first solo vocal performance in 2019 and never looked back! Since then I have become involved with various bands as a vocalist. The highlight was a large and enthusiastic crowd, at Tribfest in Yorkshire, who couldn't get enough of "Don't You Want Me" by The Human League. Currently, I'm part of a well established classic rock band (lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist) performing regularly in and around Sussex. Alongside this I have focused on solo vocal/guitar performance and songwriting. I have gained experience recording in professional studios and have enjoyed performing my own material at various venues in and around London. I was invited to perform as a soloist at Nostock Festival in Herefordshire and it was such a fun experience that I intend to incorporate more festivals in future. I love playing well known covers because familiar music brings people together. It's such a wonderful feeling when the crowd are engaged, dancing and singing along.
