TÄPP are a fresh, dynamic string loop pedal duo, featuring Rebekah Reid on violin and Polly Virr on cello. They released their debut EP “Mixtape:1” online on Bancamp in February 2017. Täpp combine classical stringed instruments and practices with electronic technology to create their own unique compositions. Their music covers everything from Baroque/Classical and jazz to folk, beats & drum and bass. You name it...they can play it! The addition of a loop pedal allows the pair to create a versatile set up that can effortlessly move between acoustic classical sounds and electronic/amplified sounds. They also incorporate a keyboard meaning that they can add further effects and synth sounds to the mix. In their live shows Beka and Polly tend to improvise a lot of the musical material and have perfected techniques that allow them to mix different tracks or musical ideas together to create a seamless mix (an example of this is in 'Ode to Bach-Asian Dreams' from Mixtape:1). The duo are able to create many different soundscapes that appeal to a wide audience; and they also really enjoy taking audience requests at their live gigs.
