Tongwynlais Temperance Band

The Tongwynlais Temperance Band is the championship brass band of the City of Cardiff. Founded in 1888 by a handful of enthusiasts in the industrial village of Tongwynlais on the outskirts of the booming port city the ensemble competes and performs at the highest level. It also hosts its The Well Tempered Brass Ensemble and includes talented professionals, amateurs and students in its membership. We seek to innovate as well as to represent the very best of the traditional brass band culture to audiences across the UK. With our Composer in Resident we premier new works for brass band as well as the established classics of the genre.
