If you're looking for a wedding pianist, honestly just book Tom Shearwood right now. He played during our wedding and was absolutely spot on! His music created the best vibe for our ceremony and drinks reception. He played a great mix of stuff—from love songs to modern hits—and so many of our guests came up to us during the day saying how brilliant he was. He’s crazy talented, super relaxed, and just dead easy to work with. Having him there made the whole day feel so much more special. We can't thank him enough—10/10 recommend!

We had Tom perform at a birthday party and he was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. He had a great selection of songs that suited everyone, created a brilliant atmosphere, and his voice and music were excellent. He was also very friendly, professional and communication leading up to the event was great, which made everything very easy and stress free. We had lots of compliments from guests afterwards. Would highly recommend!

Tom was great. He was flexible, performed a variety of songs, got along well with all our guests and helped create a great night for our son’s 21st party.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients often comment on how well I read the room and adapt the music to suit the moment. Whether it’s creating a relaxed, intimate atmosphere or building into more upbeat singalong moments, I focus on making sure the music feels natural and fits perfectly with the energy of the event. I’m also known for putting my own spin on well-known songs & fun mashups.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I’ve performed at a wide range of venues across the UK, from busy city-centre bars and live music venues to more intimate wedding settings. Some of the venues I’ve played include The Oast House, The Botanist (across multiple locations nationwide), The Trading House (Central London), The Shakespeare, Dirty O’Sullivan’s, Lass O’Gowrie, & Styal Wedding Lodge.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

My style has been shaped by artists who blend strong songwriting with distinctive live performance. Coldplay has been a big influence, along with artists such as Crowded House, U2, and Radiohead. This has naturally led me towards a focus on melody, atmosphere, and songs that connect with people.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

One of the standout gigs I’ve recently played was a summer Saturday night at The Oast House as part of the Mani-Fest series, performing on the main outdoor stage. It’s a fantastic atmosphere with a large crowd, and it really suits my style of building from relaxed moments into bigger sing-along songs as the set develops.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I'm driven to be as accommodating as possible. Issues with timing changes after booking are rare, as I always prioritise a single event. This allows as much flexibility on the day, and no need to worry about any clashes or issues. Please feel comfortable communicating any changes or adjustments!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, absolutely. I can offer this within the agreed timings of the booking.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually take around half an hour to set up, and can arrive at any time that's convenient for you.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes, of course! I have a song list available to look through, and I'm also more than happy to take requests.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I do! I have a stereo PA speaker setup (2xBose S1 Pro+), mixing desk, Nord Piano 5, microphone, stands & cables, etc.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

No problem at all. I have previously learned new songs for weddings and events, which I've not played before. However, it may likely be something I already know but not included in my song list, so please don't hesitate to ask!
