Having live music at your event adds a unique and memorable touch that you and your guests or clients will remember. I am an experienced and versatile pianist specialising in jazz, available for all kinds of events and performances. I am a skilled performer and improviser, taking influence from great pianists such as Herbie Hancock, Oscar Peterson, Errol Garner and Robert Glasper. I have a really strong foundation in both classical and jazz piano. Alongside working in education for the past 6 years, I have maintained a busy performing schedule for creative projects and for functions, weddings, events and session work. Having worked not just as a performing musician, but as a teacher, I really value professionalism, transparency, good planning and clear communication. I know how important these are to clients, so your mind can be at ease on the day of your event. A quick chat can be arranged in order to discuss your needs from me, both logistically and musically. Background about me as a musician; Having studied at Junior RWCMD and Manchester University, I received a top-class and broad musical education in piano, trumpet, composition and theory. I am an experienced bandleader and have led all manner of groups, as well as managing and directing the Manchester University Big Band whilst at university. I also ran grassroots jazz events for MSC Records for 4 years in Manchester. I have performed regularly on the Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds music scenes with artists and bands such as Jude the Obscure, Ni Maxine, Hesta Banks, [K S R], as well as performing at festivals such as Kendal Calling, Glastonbury, Africa Oye in Liverpool, Lancaster, Manchester Jazz and Brecon Jazz Festivals with various groups.
