Tobie Medland Ensemble

With BBC credits, a cross-European tour and JazzFM features under their belt, Tobie is an accomplished member of the British jazz scene. Tobie learnt the trade touring the North of England, busking and hustling for gigs in bars and restaurants. Since then, they have toured Europe and held residencies at several London venues. Tobies Gypsy Jazz Trio, 'Skylark Trio' has hosted the Sunday Jazz at Signature Brew since 2019 - this is a weekly gig featuring special guests from the UK jazz circuit, with Jam Sessions and special events. The trio have also held residencies at Silverstone Racecourse, Ruby's Dalston, Cafe Cairo, Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration and Bluecoats Tottenham. Tobie writes distinctive, unique music for newly founded quartet 'The Aviary'. The band is built of the quirky line up of Violin, Electric Archtop Guitar, Acoustic Rhythm Guitar and Double Bass, and as well as Tobie's compositions - which are inspired by elements of free improvisation, bebop, modern classical and swing - play modern jazz and Gypsy Jazz standards.
