I picked up the saxophone because it's the closest an instrument gets to a human voice. It can whisper, laugh, and cry in the same song, and that's what I love about playing live. Ten years on, I still get the same feeling when a room changes the moment the first note lands. I play for weddings, birthday parties, pubs, events and social gatherings, and I've learned that each one asks for something different. A wedding wants warmth while the guests arrive and a real lift once the dancing starts. A pub crowd wants something they can tap a foot to with a drink in hand. A private party wants whatever makes the host look like they planned the perfect night. Reading that, and adjusting on the spot, is most of the job. My sound sits across three styles: jazz, Afrobeat, and R&B. Jazz gives me the freedom to improvise and make a familiar tune feel fresh. Afrobeat is where the energy lives, and it gets people moving faster than anything else I play. R&B is smooth and romantic, perfect for the moments couples remember. I can move between all three in a single evening, so one performer covers the quiet drinks reception and the packed dance floor. I became a musician the practical way: years of daily practice, learning from other players, and thousands of hours in front of real audiences. Performing live is the best teacher there is, because a room tells you straight away what's working. Over the past ten years I've had the privilege of serenading high-profile clients and private individuals who expect a polished, reliable performance. Those evenings taught me that people at that level notice the small things, like turning up early, dressing the part, keeping to the schedule, and never letting the music get in the way of the occasion. That's the professionalism I bring to every booking, big or small. I'll talk through your plans beforehand, suggest where the music fits best, and arrive set up and ready well before the first guest walks in. If you have a song that matters to you, I'm always happy to learn it. I perform because live music makes an event feel like an event, something people talk about long after. If you're planning a wedding, a party, or a night out, I'd love to be part of it.
