Ever since 1912, people have been listening to music. Then someone had the fantastic idea to form a band to provide this, and Pop Music was born. In tribute to these pioneers, the Tin Pan Allies play the music you would expect, in a style of their own; swingy, entertaining and versatile. The Tin Pan Allies are perfectly suited to any events, indoors or outdoors. With no requirements for amplification, the Tin Pan Allies don't need PAT testing certificates or an 8' x 12' stage, or even a three-pin socket! We can play directly to your guests or delegates, and circulate around the venue as necessary to entertain and delight. We play a range of popular music from the last 100 years or so, including tunes by Fats Waller, Britney Spears, Tom Jones, The Monkees, Pharrell Williams, Oasis, Lady GaGa and Bruce Springsteen - with a jazzy feel of course. Requests for that must-have special first dance can be accommodated too - please ask Nick. -- photo credits: Jonny Barratt (jonnybphoto) / Imogen Thoburn (imogenxiana)

I can’t express how happy my husband and I are for finding the Tin Pan Allies to play at our wedding! Any questions or queries were always dealt with quickly and efficiently, leading up to the big day. Everyone loved the vibe the lads brought and it really gave our special day that fun lift we wanted, while people were enjoying drinks and canapés! Can’t recommend enough!

The Tin Pan Allies were a huge hit with all our guests, they have all been mentioning them ever since. The band were happy to make a surprise appearence and wander in to our garden wedding unannounced and then moved around playing to different groups throughout the afternoon. The music was great, they were really friendly to deal with and we loved having them as part of our wedding day.

Thank you so much Lorna and Matt for having us as part of your celebrations! We really had a great time, and I trust that the fun continued for you all after we had to leave! We’d like to wish you both all the best for a long and happy life together.

Nik and the gang were absolutely excellent at our wedding. Playing background music for the drinks reception and while guests were sitting down for the wedding breakfast. The music they played was varied, lively but not too in your face, and loads of guests commented on how fun and interesting it was having a walking band! Great experience, thanks for helping to make such great memories.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

We usually perform as a quartet, but we appreciate that another line-up such as a trio may be more appropriate for your event - please give us a call to discuss this!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We know how events can be unpredictable, so we always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Not really, since we don't usually work with a PA system - Spats does have a small system though, so we might be able to provide this if necessary for an additional charge. Please call for details.

How much time do you need to set up?

Not long - obviously we'll need somewhere to stash our cases but other than that we're pretty much performing straight out of the box!

Can you roam around while you perform?

This is what we do! We can stand on a stage if need be but we'd prefer to wander around the party to entertain!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We tailor each playlist to be as appropriate as possible, but yes please do give us some guidance on this, we'll be happy to work something out with you.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Usually we travel without any of this stuff - especially if performing outside! If any is needed we'll tailor our quote for your event.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We're happy to give it a go; if we can make it work we will! Just give Spats a bit of notice to come up with a plan...

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our clients love that we're always having fun - this music is perfect for any occasion!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We've a good relationship with 10 Castle Street in Cranbourne, and have also performed at the Badger Brewery and at weddings and events all over the south of the UK. Highclere "Downton Abbey" Castle was very interesting, and we even squeezed into a restaurant in Notting Hill.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We cite Louis Armstrong, Lady GaGa, Postmodern Jukebox and Bob Monkhouse as our muses... We'll let you guess which of us said who!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Every gig is high profile for us; we're committed to making your event our priority.
